Chinese Fermentation Creative Contest, 2010     

 

Mr. Guo-En Cheng and Miss Yu-Ling Chen, the students of Department of Food Science and Technology got the Superior Prize in student group of Chinese Fermentation Pasta Creative Contest, 2010.

 

 

  • The students from the Department of Food Science and Technology got averagely 94 % pass rate of licensing exams

           Glory for Taiwan

  •     Mr. Sheng-Kai Yang, the student of Department of Food Science and Applied Biotechnology, and Mr. Guo-Jen Yeh, the student of Department of Hospitality Management. Both these two students are from Hungkuang University and are subsidized by the Excellence Program of the Ministry of Education, the Republic of China. They participated in Asia’s 1st Culinary Cup which was the imitation of International Olympic in Bangkok, Thailand in 2009. In Asia’s 1st Culinary Cup, there were many participants from more than 30 countries. Among the competition, Mr. Sheng-Kai Yang got the only full marks and won the Super Gold Bowl and Mr. Guo-Jen Yeh got Silver Medal in the item of Free Style Fruit & Vegetable Carving Show Piece. In addition, Mr. Jia-Wei Shih Mr. Shiang- Kai from Hungkuang University won Silver Medal of Asian Type Cooking Contest and another Silver Medal of Hot Pasta Dish competition respectively. The winning entry of Mr. Yang was named “Predation”—Two lizards were made by taros,  carved remarkably true to life.  The judges of the committee gave zero defects, the highest honor In this competition. However, it was a pity that the winning entry could not pass through the customs entry, so we could not see the winning entry itself. Nevertheless, from the competition of Asia’s 1st Culinary Cup, we firmly believe that Taiwan’s food culture has passed to our younger generation.  In the near future, Taiwan’s young chefs will continuously succeed in the world.
